3. Our Services
ARCHKEEPERS is a browser-based fantasy card game. The game includes battles along the World Path, the Canon Arena, Manuscripts built from Pages and Instruments, the Restoration, the Store, the Treasury, the Collector's Market, and the in-game currencies Gilded Ink and Archive Seals.
All rights in the game and the Platform — software, artwork, design, characters, texts, game systems, databases, and trademarks — belong to the Company or its licensors. Using the Services does not give you ownership of the game, any Virtual Item, or any balance.
Provided you comply with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Platform for personal entertainment.
As a live game in active development, we may add, change, rebalance, restrict, or remove features, items, currencies, prices in in-game currency, the chances of rewards, opponents, Pages, Instruments, Arena rules, shop rules, and other elements of the Services, subject to applicable consumer law.
4. Eligibility and Age Requirement
The Platform is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. By using the Platform you confirm that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
You may not use the Platform where doing so is unlawful in your jurisdiction. We may restrict access in countries or territories where operating the Platform would be prohibited or would require licences or compliance measures we do not maintain.
5. Account Registration and Security
The opening lesson of the game can be played without an account. An account is required to continue beyond it and to make any purchase. Registration asks for an email address, a password, and a nickname, and for your acceptance of these Terms and the Privacy Policy. Your email address must be confirmed before you can make a purchase. You agree to provide accurate information at registration and keep it up to date.
You are responsible for the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Accounts are personal: you may not share, sell, rent, or transfer your account. Notify us immediately at support@archkeepers.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
We may restrict or suspend an account we reasonably believe is compromised or involved in fraud, abuse, chargeback misuse, automation, or other breaches of these Terms.
6. Virtual Items and Digital Content
Virtual Items and Digital Content are licensed for use within the Platform, not sold to you as property. You acquire no ownership, property, or intellectual-property rights in them and no right to use them outside the Platform.
Virtual Items may be obtained through gameplay, through purchases from the Company in the Store and the Collector's Market, or through promotions. Their availability, characteristics, rarity, the chances of obtaining them, and their prices in in-game currency may change over time as part of game development and balancing.
The use of Gilded Ink, Archive Seals, and Virtual Items is limited as set out in Section 7.
7. No Conversion into Money
Gilded Ink, Archive Seals, and all Virtual Items are licensed for use inside ARCHKEEPERS only. Nothing in the game can be turned back into money.
(a) No conversion. Gilded Ink, Archive Seals, and Virtual Items have no monetary value. They are not legal tender, not electronic money, not a deposit, not a financial instrument, and not a security, crypto-asset, or investment product, and they carry no right to interest or appreciation. They cannot be converted back into real money or anything of monetary value, withdrawn, or redeemed.
(b) No passing to anyone else. Gilded Ink, Archive Seals, and Virtual Items cannot be sold, traded, gifted, lent, or transferred to another player, another account, or anyone else, inside the Platform or outside it. The Platform has no function for doing so, and any attempt to do so outside the Platform is prohibited and may lead to suspension and forfeiture of the content involved.
(c) The Company is the only seller. Gilded Ink and Archive Seals are sold only by the Company, in the Treasury. Items in the Store and the Collector's Market are offered only by the Company. Neither shop is open to offers from users, and nobody is authorised to offer Gilded Ink, Archive Seals, Virtual Items, or accounts on our behalf.
(d) No payments to users. The Platform does not pay money to users in any form. A refund under Section 19 and the Refund and Cancellation Policy, or under the law that applies to you, is the only way money you paid us is returned to you.
8. Gilded Ink
Gilded Ink may be purchased in the game in the Treasury, at the prices displayed on the purchase screen. Gilded Ink is not obtained through gameplay.
Gilded Ink may be spent within the game in the Store — including on Pages, Instruments, Restoration pieces, Ink refills and clearing an Instrument's Rest. Once Gilded Ink is spent or otherwise consumed, it is treated as consumed Digital Content and is not refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
Gilded Ink has no monetary value outside the Platform and is subject to Section 7.
If you purchase Gilded Ink and request immediate delivery, you acknowledge that you may lose your statutory right of withdrawal once delivery begins (see Section 19).
9. Archive Seals
Archive Seals may be purchased in the game in the Treasury, at the prices displayed on the purchase screen.
Archive Seals may be spent within the game in the Collector's Market on World Folios and Canon Relics offered by the Company. Once Archive Seals are spent or otherwise consumed, they are treated as consumed Digital Content and are not refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
Archive Seals have no monetary value outside the Platform and are subject to Section 7. The Platform does not guarantee any financial outcome from playing or from holding any Virtual Item.
If you purchase Archive Seals and request immediate delivery, you acknowledge that you may lose your statutory right of withdrawal once delivery begins (see Section 19).
10. The Store and the Collector's Market
The Store and the Collector's Market are in-game shops operated by the Company. In the Store, Gilded Ink is spent on items offered by the Company. In the Collector's Market, Archive Seals are spent on World Folios and Canon Relics offered by the Company. Some items become available only after progress in the game.
Every item shows what it is and its price in Gilded Ink or Archive Seals before you confirm. Purchases in the Store and the Collector's Market are never random: you receive the item shown.
The Store and the Collector's Market are not an exchange, a financial market, a payment service, a broker, or a gambling service. Completed purchases in them are final, except that we may reverse or cancel a purchase caused by fraud, technical error, chargeback, unauthorised access, automation, or a breach of these Terms, and except where the law requires otherwise.
11. Wear of Virtual Items
Certain Virtual Items are designed to wear with use. A Page bought in the Store carries Ink, which is used up by each battle it is carried into, in the World Path and in the Canon Arena alike; a Page with no Ink left stays in your collection but cannot be equipped until it is refilled with Gilded Ink or rested. An Instrument carries Charges, which are used up by battles; when they run out the Instrument rests, and the Rest passes with play or can be cleared with Gilded Ink. Pages obtained free or through gameplay do not wear. The current values are displayed in the game.
Wear, refills, and rest are rules of the game. They are not a defect in the Digital Content and do not create any refund right.
12. Rewards Decided by Chance
Some rewards obtained through gameplay — for example World Folios, Canon Relics, and Pages received after a victory — are decided in whole or in part by chance. The game does not display the odds of these rewards, and we do not guarantee that any particular reward will be received.
These rewards are part of gameplay and are not purchased. No purchase on the Platform has a random result (see Section 10).
13. The Canon Arena
In the Canon Arena the game plays your Manuscript, as you last recorded it, against Manuscripts recorded by other users. Your recorded Manuscript may be played against other users when you are not online. Other users may see your nickname, the portrait you chose, your progress, your Manuscript's power, your Arena rating, and your recorded Manuscript.
The Platform has no chat and no direct messaging.
14. Payments and Pricing
Prices are displayed in the Treasury in EUR and include taxes where the law requires. Payments are processed by authorised third-party payment providers; by submitting payment details you authorise the applicable charge.
The price you pay is the price displayed in the Treasury; we charge no additional fee on purchases. Fees charged by your bank or card issuer, if any, are outside our control. If we introduce a fee in the future, its amount will be shown before you confirm the transaction; changes do not affect transactions already completed.
We do not store full card details; payment data is handled by the payment provider under its own terms and privacy notice.
We may refuse, cancel, or reverse a transaction in cases of pricing or technical error, suspected fraud, chargeback risk, compliance concerns, or breach of these Terms.
15. Payment Checks and Lawful Use
Identity verification is not required to register, play, or make purchases on the Platform. We may request identity or payment verification from particular users — for example where a transaction is flagged by our risk controls or by a payment provider — and may carry out sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and other checks required or permitted by law or payment-provider rules.
We and our payment providers may perform payment verification, fraud-prevention checks, and other checks required or permitted by law, payment-provider rules, or our risk controls.
You agree to cooperate with reasonable verification requests concerning a payment; failure to do so may result in transaction limits or account restrictions. You confirm that all funds you use on the Platform come from lawful sources and that your use of the Platform complies with applicable law, including sanctions rules. We may report suspicious activity to competent authorities where required or permitted by law.
16. Acceptable Use
You must not:
(a) use bots, scripts, macros, or other automation to play or gain advantage;
(b) exploit bugs, balancing errors, shop errors, or payment errors instead of reporting them to support@archkeepers.com;
(c) manipulate battles, Arena results, ratings, or rewards;
(d) create or use multiple accounts to abuse promotions, bypass limits, or conceal identity;
(e) buy, sell, rent, or trade accounts, Gilded Ink, Archive Seals, or Virtual Items, or attempt anything else prohibited by Section 7;
(f) harass or threaten other users or submit unlawful, hateful, or fraudulent content, including in a nickname;
(g) use the Platform for gambling, money laundering, sanctions evasion, or any other unlawful purpose;
(h) reverse-engineer, copy, or interfere with the Platform or the game;
(i) use stolen or unauthorised payment methods, or enter card details that you are not authorised to use;
(j) attempt to bypass security, verification, regional, or account controls.
17. Suspension, Termination, and Forfeiture
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate your account or access to features if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, violated the law, abused game or payment systems, caused chargebacks, or otherwise harmed the Platform or other users.
Upon suspension or termination we may, subject to applicable law, freeze or forfeit Virtual Items, Gilded Ink, Archive Seals, and other account features connected to the breach.
You may request closure of your account at support@archkeepers.com. Closure may be delayed while there are pending transactions, disputes, verification obligations, or legal retention requirements.
18. Delivery of Digital Content
Digital Content is normally credited to your account immediately after payment confirmation, or within a short technical processing period.
If purchased content is not delivered, contact support@archkeepers.com — we will investigate and deliver the content, correct the balance, or refund you where the law or the Refund and Cancellation Policy requires.
19. Refunds and Consumer Right of Withdrawal
Refunds are governed by this Section and the Refund and Cancellation Policy published on the Platform.
If you are a Consumer in the United Kingdom or the EU/EEA, you normally have a 14-day right to cancel a distance contract. For Digital Content, this right is lost where you expressly request immediate delivery and acknowledge the loss of the withdrawal right; the checkout asks for this consent so that Gilded Ink, Archive Seals, and other content can be delivered immediately.
Gilded Ink, Archive Seals, and other Digital Content that have been delivered and then spent, consumed, used in gameplay, or otherwise activated are not refundable except where required by applicable law. Entirely unused purchases may be refunded as described in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
20. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property in the Platform and the game — code, artwork, animations, design, texts, lore, characters, opponents, items, sounds, music, databases, balancing, names, and logos — belongs to the Company or its licensors.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, publish, create derivative works from, scrape, or commercially exploit any part of the Platform without our prior written consent, except where mandatory law allows.
21. User Content
Where the Platform lets you submit content (for example a nickname or support messages), you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, process, moderate, and remove that content as needed to operate and protect the Platform.
You must not submit content that is unlawful, infringing, abusive, misleading, or otherwise harmful.
22. Third-Party Services
The Platform relies on third-party services such as payment processing, hosting, and email delivery, and may contain links to third-party sites. We are not responsible for services we do not control; your use of them is subject to their own terms and privacy notices.
23. Availability and Changes to the Game
The game is provided as a live service in active development. Features may be added, changed, or removed, and maintenance windows may occur. If we permanently discontinue the game, we will give reasonable advance notice on the Platform.
24. Disclaimers
The Platform and Services are provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, compatibility with every device, or availability in every jurisdiction.
We do not guarantee any gameplay outcome, reward, rating, item characteristic, or any financial result. Nothing on the Platform is financial, tax, legal, or other professional advice.
25. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability in connection with the Platform and these Terms is limited to the greater of (i) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (ii) EUR 100.
To the same extent, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including loss of data, goodwill, or opportunity, or losses arising from gameplay outcomes, account suspension, or third-party services.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer protections.
26. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify the Company and its officers, employees, contractors, and licensors against claims, losses, and costs arising from your breach of these Terms, unlawful conduct, infringement of third-party rights, payment misuse, or chargebacks caused by your breach.
27. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will take reasonable steps to notify you through the Platform or by email before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance; if you do not agree, stop using the Platform and you may request account closure.
28. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country or in the courts of England and Wales.
Before starting formal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting support@archkeepers.com. EU Consumers may also contact the consumer dispute resolution bodies of their country of residence. The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025.
29. General Provisions
(a) Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Refund and Cancellation Policy, and any additional rules published on the Platform, form the entire agreement between you and the Company regarding the Platform.
(b) Severability. If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions stay in force.
(c) No waiver. Not enforcing a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
(d) Assignment. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our consent; we may assign ours as part of a merger, acquisition, or reorganisation of our business.
(e) Force majeure. We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including network or payment-provider failures, cyber incidents, governmental actions, or natural disasters.
(f) Language. These Terms are drawn up in English; if translated, the English version prevails unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
