ARCHKEEPERS
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy ("Policy") explains how PG SCIENTIFIC INC LTD uses cookies and similar technologies on the ARCHKEEPERS platform available at https://archkeepers.com and the game service reached from it, together with related pages, accounts, payment flows, the Store, the Treasury, the Collector's Market, and support features operated by us (the "Platform").
It describes what cookies and similar technologies are, which categories are used on the Platform, why they are used, how long they last, and how you can manage your choices.
2. Who We Are
The entity responsible for cookies and similar technologies on the Platform is:
Company: PG SCIENTIFIC INC LTD Company registration number: 14310944 Registered address: 25 Wilton Rd, London SW1V 1LW, United Kingdom Website: https://archkeepers.com Email: support@archkeepers.com
3. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website or use an online service. They let a service recognise your device, keep you signed in, remember settings, maintain security, and support technical operation.
The Platform relies mainly on similar technologies — browser local storage and session storage (used to keep you signed in, hold your game session and progress on your device, and remember sound and interface preferences), as well as server logs. Where these technologies serve a purpose similar to cookies, this Policy applies to them in the same way. The game also keeps a cache of its own static files (images, sounds, fonts and program files, never your account data) in your browser's Cache Storage, so they do not need to be downloaded again on each visit.
Cookies can be set by us ("first-party cookies") or by providers whose services operate on the Platform, such as hosting, authentication, or payment providers ("third-party cookies").
4. Categories and What Is Stored
(a) Strictly necessary — in use
These technologies are required for the Platform to work and are used at all times. They support:
- keeping you signed in to your ARCHKEEPERS account;
- maintaining your game and account session;
- keeping your progress and your purchase records on your device between visits;
- completing a purchase that is in progress;
protecting your account against unauthorised access.
Strictly necessary technologies do not require consent, because the Platform cannot function properly without them. You can block them in your browser, but signing in, playing, and paying will stop working.
(b) Functionality and preference — limited use
Preference technologies remember choices you make, such as music and sound settings, and which introductions and lessons you have already seen. On the Platform these are stored in local storage. Where a preference is needed to deliver something you asked for, it is treated as strictly necessary; any purely optional preference technologies will be used only where permitted by law.
(c) Analytics and measurement — anonymous page-view statistics on the website only
The game does not use analytics or measurement of any kind. On the website archkeepers.com, the hosting platform records anonymous page-view statistics (which pages are visited and how often); these are not used for advertising or for tracking you across other sites. The Platform does not use analytics or measurement cookies. If this ever changes, this Policy will be updated first and such cookies will be used only where permitted by law and after your consent.
(d) Targeting and advertising — not used
We do not use targeting or advertising cookies and do not allow advertising partners to place cookies on the Platform. If this ever changes, this Policy will be updated first and such cookies will be used only with your consent where required by law.
What is stored on your device
Sign-in session: Local storage, in the game. Keeps you signed in between visits. Kept until you sign out or clear it.
Game progress and account records: Local storage, in the game. Holds your progress, your purchase records, which account is signed in on this device, a registration that is waiting for confirmation, and battle results waiting to be confirmed by our server, so the game can start, continue and recover after a lost connection. Kept until you clear it.
Purchase in progress: Session storage, in the game. Remembers, for this tab only, which item you were buying and the amount you had chosen, so that after you sign in, register or return from a payment confirmation you come back to the same item instead of having to find it again; it holds no card details and no payment authorisation. The amount you had chosen is forgotten after 30 minutes. Kept until the browser tab is closed.
Technical markers: Session storage, in the game. Remember, for this tab only, that the game has just reloaded itself after an update and that an animation has already been shown. Kept until the browser tab is closed.
Sound, music and effects settings: Local storage, in the game. Remembers your settings. Kept until you clear it.
Lessons and introductions already seen; last Arena rating shown: Local storage, in the game. Avoids showing the same introduction twice. Kept until you clear it.
Note of the last error: Local storage, in the game. Keeps a record of the last fault on your device, so it can be shown to support; it is not sent to us automatically. Kept until you clear it.
The website archkeepers.com: The website sets no cookies of its own. It keeps two small entries in your browser for its background music, both strictly functional and needing no consent: ak-music-time (session storage), the playback position of the music, so that it carries on from the same place when you open another page; it is deleted when the browser tab is closed; and ak-music-muted (local storage), which remembers that you switched the music off or on, so the website respects your choice on your next visit; it is kept until you clear it. Its hosting provider sets two strictly necessary cookies: __dpl, which routes your visit to the current version of the website and is kept for up to 7 days; and __cf_bm, set by Cloudflare to protect the website against automated abuse, which is kept for about 30 minutes. The hosting platform also records anonymous page-view statistics for the website, as described in section 4(c); these are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
5. Managing Your Preferences
(a) Cookie settings
The Platform uses no optional cookies, so it shows no cookie banner. Should the Platform introduce optional cookies and a cookie banner or cookie settings tool, you will be able to accept or reject optional cookies and change your choice at any time. Strictly necessary technologies cannot be switched off, as the Platform cannot operate without them.
(b) Browser settings
Most browsers let you view, block, and delete cookies and clear local storage:
Google Chrome: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
Microsoft Edge: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge
Mozilla Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cookies-information-websites-store-on-your-computer
Apple Safari: https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-and-website-data-sfri11471/mac
Opera: https://help.opera.com/en/latest/web-preferences/
Blocking or deleting strictly necessary cookies and local storage will affect login, saved sessions, and payments.
6. Cookies and Personal Data
Some cookies and similar technologies involve personal data — for example your IP address, device and browser information, session identifiers, or account activity. Where that is the case, we process the data in accordance with our Data Protection and Privacy Policy and the GDPR as defined there.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use cookies for cross-site tracking.
7. Third-Party Cookies
A small number of cookies may be set by providers whose services are built into the Platform — in particular authentication, hosting, payment, and fraud-prevention providers — strictly to deliver those functions. These providers process data under their own privacy and cookie notices, which we recommend reviewing where relevant.
We do not permit third-party advertising or social-media tracking cookies on the Platform.
8. How Long Cookies Last
Session cookies and session storage entries are deleted when you close your browser or the tab. Persistent cookies and local storage entries remain on your device for a set period or until deleted — for example, an authentication token persists so you stay signed in between visits.
We configure cookies and storage to last no longer than reasonably necessary for their purpose, and you can clear them at any time through your browser.
9. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the cookies and similar technologies we use, Platform features, service providers, or legal requirements. The current version is always available on the Platform; material changes may be announced on the Platform or by email where appropriate.
